Bachiashvili was placed on a privately chartered Georgia Airways flight and flown to Tbilisi, allegedly accompanied by senior officials including Anri Okhanashvili, head of the State Security Service. The operation ignored international law and asylum seeker rights, and bypassed any formal extradition process.
